Carleton-area Hospice Patients Need Your Help
12 people are interested
Heartland volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help to people nearing the end of life and those who support them. Volunteers help in numerous ways, such as:
Reading, or providing a comforting touch
Playing or singing soothing music to patients
Staying with patients so family members can rest
Helping with household tasks and yardwork
Running errands for patients and families
As a Heartland Hospice volunteer, you can donate as much or as little of your time as you desire. We work with you to find a geographic area or service that is uniquely suited to you and provides you with the greatest personal satisfaction.
At Heartland, we provide volunteers with a detailed orientation to the hospice program so they fully understand our caring philosophy and goals, and have the skills needed to assist patients and their families.
