Volunteers serve in a professional capacity performing on-site CLIA waived lab procedures as ordered by provider. The volunteer must be trained and able to demonstrate competency with all lab procedures. They must be familiar with normal/abnormal results, know which labs require a NPO status and be able to check the patients chart that labs are not duplicated or done in an inappropriate time frame. All results will be documented with signature on the lab log and patients lab sheet.
The volunteer will perform the lab testing proficiently. Knowledge of abnormal laboratory results is necessary. Strong people skills required. The volunteer should be familiar with, or able to quickly learn data entry skills.
