Volunteers serve in a professional nursing capacity in completing a nursing assessment and documenting a comprehensive detailed patient history. No labs will be done and not vital signs will be taken. All current medications will be documented on the Medication List. All information related to surgical history, social history, preventative care and vaccine history will be documented on the bottom of the Problem List. This information will be used to determine priority for the patients first medical appointment and will be the first step in development of a patient treatment plan.
The volunteer must be an RN with broad medical knowledge and nursing experience. An active Nursing license in the State of Virginia is preferred. Effective interviewing, assessment and communication skills is required.
