The mission of Isaiah 55, Inc. is to grow food and offer fresh healthy choices to the less fortunate. Our main garden is located in Mt. Auburn. We need help maintaining the garden (mowing, trimming, pruning, building garden beds etc), sowing seeds (starting seedlings, sowing seeds in the ground, planting transplants etc.), harvesting (picking green beans, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, peppers, melons etc), and preparing food and baskets for families in need. We teach gardening so we will teach you everything you need to know. We are also working on urban fruit orchards. These parcels of land need to be cleared (trimmed, mowed and weed removal) so we can plant fruit trees and berry shrubs. We are very excited about our new garden location in Evanston. We will need to build garden beds, a shed and basically build this garden from scratch. We have the supplies we just need man power. We have Lots of opportunities for all ages. During the quarantine we began to help families with "Victory Gardens". We distributed seeds, seed starter kits, tomato and pepper container gardens, hand sanitizer, mask and lots of gardening advice. We also need help preparing these kits and container gardens to be distributed to families in the community. Thanks for your consideration to assist us in furthering our mission.
