The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
At Faith Hospice, we believe in making a person’s final days comfortable and memorable, and we need your help. Many people facing the end of life request only one thing: companionship. We are looking for volunteers to visit hospice patients and provide that companionship through talking, listening, reading, playing games, taking walks, or just being present. We don’t require any specific skills, only your time and your compassion for others. Be a blessing by giving these things to help make someone’s final days unforgettable.
