For this program we are looking for Military connected people or people who would like to support chldren in schools near to our Military bases. This program is a partnership with Communities In Schools Jacksonville http://cisjax.org/our-work/literacy/ and Big Brothers Big Sisters of NE Florida http://www.bbbs.org/site/c.okLXJ7MMKpH/b.3538189/k.BFB0/Home.htm. The BIGS in Schools Mentoring program is ONE hour per week in the SCHOOL the child attends typically during lunch. A commitment of no less than one year is requested. Applicants will be required to take Mentoring Class hosted by the Jacksonville Children's Commission and complete their Background Check. When the Background Check is completed applicants will be interviewed by BBBS to create a profile for matching with a child. Upon completion the Big Brother or Sister will be paired with Little Brother or Sister at a school that is receiving BBBS services. All activities will be at the School.
