Be a hero and save a life by becoming a foster parent for our animals. Puppies and kittens cannot live in the shelter until after they are weaned, have had two rounds of vaccines and are big enough to be spayed or neutered. Some adult animals are shy and need time in a calm home environment where they gain the confidence to interact with the public. Other animals may be recovering from a broken bone, heartworm treatment, or a skin condition and need a quiet and safe environment until they get well. Foster parents give these animals the time they need to become viable adoption candidates.
Usually, the foster period is anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on the size and situation of the animal. Paws Humane provides the veterinary care for the animal being fostered as well as items needed for caring for the animal.
If you are interested in becoming a Foster Parent Volunteer, please complete an online application at https://www.pawshumane.org/get-involved/foster-care/.
