Smiling G

We need friendly, smiling faces to help collect donations and distribute Goodwill Sale coupons. We have shifts available at area Boston Store locations. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community or for students to fulfill service hour requirements for school and religious programs. All volunteers 14 years of age and older are welcome (youth under age 14 can be accompanied by an adult). This activity may require some physical activity such as lifting, reaching, and bending.

Donations during The Goodwill Sale replenish our retail stores, therefore generating more Amazing Finds for our customers. Earnings from our retail stores allow Goodwill to serve more people in the community. Last year alone, we provided training, employment and supportive services to nearly 65,000 individuals with disabilities and disadvantages. Boston Store customers also love the sale because the coupons are good for Boston Store merchandise including many items that never go on sale!

Mission Statement

Goodwill provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence.

Description

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin is the largest of more than 165 Goodwill organizations in North America. Some 6,200 Goodwill employees work in nearly 100 locations throughout 23 counties in southeastern Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago.

Goodwill provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence. In 2014, we served 70,000 individuals, all striving to overcome disabilities or disadvantages. Goodwill's objective is to assist program participants in developing or securing work opportunities that fulfill their personal and professional goals, while providing wages and benefits that maintain self-sufficiency.

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc., has been providing services since 1919. We pursue and achieve our mission by operating diverse businesses: participant programs and services, retail and salvage sales, industrial subcontracts and laundry, and service contracts with the government.

Since 1972, selected Goodwill programs and services have been accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission.

As a non-profit organization, Goodwill appreciates the continued support of government funding sources, local and national foundations, and corporate and individual donors. Equally important, however, are Goodwill's own initiatives, which help us remain a self-sustaining organization.
