In order to improve the health and safey of the people of Monroe County, the Medical Reserve Corps recruit members to provide public health support during local emergencies and disaster, implement new and comprehensive training programs to meet the needs for the community and recovery efforts and collaborate with community organizations including CERT, American Red Cross, RSVP, HOSA and Bloomington Volunteer Network. The Medical Reserve Corps needs volunteers (medical and non-medical) of ALL backgrounds and skill levels.
Possible volunteer opportunities in an emergency include patient care, triage, paperwork collection, traffic control, staffing coordination, translator, etc. Non-emergency volunteer events include health fairs, educating the public on health and emergency preparedness topics, mock-emergencies, and more. We need you!
