Calling Volunteers!
On Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, 2018, the Gaslamp Quarter Association will be holding our Annual Neighborhood Clean-Up. This year we will be rejuvenating Davis Park on the corner of Fourth Avenue & Island Avenue. The park is adjacent to the Horton-Davis House and Gaslamp Museum. As an important public space in our neighborhood, we want to ensure Davis Park is beautiful for generations to come.
DATE: Sunday, April 22, 2017
TIME: 9:00AM to 1:00PM
VOLUNTEER LOCATION: Davis Park at 410 Island Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101
ACTIVITIES TO INCLUDE:
* Planting flowers
* Clearing debris
* Installing new seating
PERKS: Free goodie bag for all participating volunteers!
PARKING: Plenty of parking available at $1/hour in the Gaslamp Quarter's two structures: Park It On Market (614 Market Street) and the 6th & K Parkade (289 Sixth Avenue). We will not be providing parking validation for this event.
ATTIRE: Comfortable shoes and clothing (you will get dirty!), no political commentary, explicit content or ripped clothing that exposes armpits or bellies.

Description
As San Diego's premier shopping, dining and nightlife destination, the Gaslamp Quarter is home to the region's most diverse collection of restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues. Representing the 400 businesses spread out across 16+ blocks located in Downtown San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter Association is the non-profit 501c6 merchants association of the Gaslamp Quarter. With over 100 restaurants and entertainment venues and more than 100 boutiques, spas and salons, fine art galleries and artisan shops, the Gaslamp Quarter offers countless opportunities to indulge, entertain and amuse even the most discerning visitor.
The district’s 90+ historic buildings have placed the community on the National Registry of Historic Places, and creates the breathtaking backdrop for the Gaslamp Quarter Association’s community events hosted throughout the year, including the Taste of Gaslamp, Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase, Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade, Poinsettia Bowl Gaslamp March, and Dash & Dine Gaslamp 5K (a portion of the proceeds to benefit Armed Forces YMCA).
