Teaching by the lake

The MVNC Program Teacher volunteer leads school, scout, community, and/or public programs and may host public hours and programs. School Programs are designed for PreK-6 th grade students based on state science standards. Scout, community and public programs are on a variety of topics including gardening, natural history, and current environmental issues.

Program Teachers receive training and access to class descriptions, outlines and curriculum and are always encouraged to observe other experienced staff and volunteers teach.

The principal time of year that Program Teachers are most scheduled are September- October and April -May during the height of school field trip season. You are always invited to host public hours and programs at any time of the year.
