During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Do you love animals? Would you like to spend some time helping on a farm?
Fuzzy Faces Refuge is a 501c3 with a vision! But, we need more Fuzzy Faces to make our vision a reality. Our mission focuses on providing therapeutic activities and programs for children, adults, Veterans and First Responders.
Helping to care for the animals and their habitat are what is needed right now.
We are seeking volunteers that are 18 years of age or older and can make a long term commitment of at least one day per week to help with morning animal care for critically endangered heritage breed farm animals to include horses, goats, chickens, ducks and geese.
After completing your volunteer form, you will be contacted to discuss availability and opportunities in more detail. Don't worry if you haven't done this before, we will train you!
Please be sure to wear boots and bring your work gloves anytime you come to the farm.
We look forward to talking with you!

Fuzzy Faces Refuge (FFR) is a NC 501c3 non-profit that provides a sanctuary for endangered heritage breed farm animals where people of all abilities can interact safely with animals using positive, therapeutic experiences that build confidence, enable positive progress and afford opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable.
Fuzzy Faces Refuge is dedicated to protecting and promoting endangered livestock and poultry from extinction to preserve our heritage for generations to come. As part of our education and conservancy effort, we offer opportunities for therapeutic interaction and adoption of the endangered breeds that we raise.
As a PATH International Member Center, and through our program Freedom Steps, we are uniquely situated to offer Equine Assisted Animal Therapy to the surrounding community. Our programs include providing equine-assisted activities and therapeutic riding for those who live with physical, emotional or cognitive challenges, or those enduring psychological and/or physical wounds, including children, adults, veterans and first responders.
FFR has a small petting zoo that the local community, schools and therapists can visit by invitation or appointment with their families, friends, students or patients. Get to know our resident fuzzy faces and enjoy the therapeutic value found within a serene farm setting.
We'll work with your schedule.
