Great Lakes Caring Hospice is looking for Companion Volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes.

The Companion Volunteer will provide companionship in any of the following ways: play cards/games, watch TV, take the patient out into the garden area for fresh air (if you both desire), read to patient, etc. This is a companionship opportunity and there is no physical care involved during your visit.

We also have specific opportunities about once or month a more where we ask our volunteers to help us with a specific event located typically at a senior facility.

Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week (or at least two visits per month) for at least a period of six months.

Even if you were to participate with our organization once per month, all volunteers must fill out the application form and will be administered two TB tests (unless you can provide proof from your doctor).

Please contact Doug at 1-855-727-9111 and ask for volunteer services or by e-mail at
