Shelving Volunteer

The Poway Community Library is looking for adult volunteers to assist with shelving library materials on weekdays (currently Monday and Thursday mornings from 10 am - 12 pm), Tuesday and Wednesdays (12 pm - 2 pm)and Fridays (10 am - 12 pm or 12 pm - 2 pm).

Help the Poway Library get returning books back on the shelves in a timely manner and in good order, making it easier for library users and staff to find and use materials. Duties would include putting books and other library materials in the appropriate location on shelves, straightening materials on shelves and ensuring they are in the correct order, and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications include the ability to arrange items in numerical and alphabetical order; the ability to push, bend, squat, kneel, stretch and move heavy book carts; a serious aptitude for detail and neatness, and ability to work independently. We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week for six months. An interview, background check and medical exam are required. We are unable to take court ordered volunteers.
