raccoon baby

Home-based wildlife rehabilitator in need of animal care volunteers, especially during the busy season (April-October). Animal care volunteers help feed, clean and care for orphaned and sick wildlife (small to medium mammals, such as squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, raccoons). This includes preparing food, hand-feeding baby animals, cleaning cages, and other supportive activities such as behavioral enrichment and maintaining a clean rehabilitation environment. Help us save more animals! Occasional help also needed for cage building, educational events, etc.

Mission Statement

Wild Once More Rehabilitation Center is a 501(c)(3) Colorado non-profit corporation dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned, injured and sick wildlife and returning those animals to the wild. We also acknowledge the valuable relationship between humans and wildlife, and work to honor and improve that relationship through volunteer programs and education. We encourage responsible stewardship of wildlife and its habitat in all that we do.

Description

Wild Once More Rehabilitation Center rehabilitates injured, sick and orphaned wildlife in the state of Colorado. We focus on small to medium-sized mammals. Most of the animals we see are the result of human intervention, and we raise and heal them so that they can be released back into the wild. The organization exists to provide services not only to the wildlife but also to the public, many of whom are desperate to find someone to save the tiny baby or injured adult that they found. They come with babies in shoeboxes, wrapped in towels, in cat carriers, or any container that they can find. Often children hand the animals to us, with the pleading question, 'can you save him?’

We are all-volunteer and receive no government funding.
