Senior Citizen Resources in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood needs a few people to assist us getting our meals to the homebound. If you drive, you could be the driver, and we will match up a "runner" to take the meal to the home. You could create your own team with someone you know, or we can match 2 volunteers up, as long as one can drive.
We would love a day a week commitment, or more of course. But if you could commit to 1 route, 1 day a week, it would be wonderful!
We deliver meals 5 days a week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00-11:15. We have 4 different routes and rely on volunteers to assist. Usually the time commitment is about 1 hour or even less. We look for volunteers for this purpose at any time of the year. Thank you for your consideration.

Mission Statement
SCR is a non profit Senior Center with the purpose of enhancing the quality of life of seniors in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland. Our programs, including congregate meals, meals on wheels, transportation, social services and activities are all geared towards keeping our seniors active and independent.
Description
SCR has been in existence since 1971, providing continuous services to the seniors in Old Brooklyn for over 45 years. We provide over 26,000 meals per year, over 13,000 trips to grocery stores,medical appointments, and social excursions, as well as activities and exercise programs on a daily basis. We provide social services including the distribution of food bank food and hunger center. We are an independent non-profit that services one of the highest populations of seniors in the County.
