Our Mascot Oreo

Save a Stray Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization created in 2015 with the goal of reducing the overpopulation of stray and feral cats roaming the streets of Maricopa County, Arizona.

Our focus is to educate the population about the importance of spaying and neutering household pets and how a non-lethal and humane cat management program can be implemented via "trapping, neutering and returning" free roaming and stray cats in the community.

The organization’s founder, Sue Harrington, has been doing TNR (trap, neuter, return) on her own since 2005. Since then, Sue and other volunteers have TNR’d hundreds of free roaming cats and have placed the adoptable cats and kittens into good homes through partnership with adoption organizations. Our mission is to reduce the suffering of the stray and feral cats across the county that lack food, water, shelter, and medical care. After the cats are TNR’d, they are either adopted out or are returned to their colonies and are provided with food and water by Save a Stray Foundation on a daily basis.
