Our Family Resource Center and Food Shelf in Rosemount serves as an open, welcoming place for community members to gather, work with volunteers and staff, plan their individual paths to success and receive needed food. Staff and volunteers build trusting relationships with individuals and families in order to identify and remove barriers to help long-term self-sufficiency.

We are looking to fill the following volunteer opportunities and ask volunteers to be willing to commit to a minimum of one shift per week on an ongoing basis. Training is provided for all volunteer opportunities.

Available Volunteer opportunities:

RESOURCE CENTER:

Welcome Desk/Scheduler - This volunteer position answers our phones and sets Food Shelf client appointments in the computer system.

FOOD SHELF VOLUNTEER

Receiving

In this role you will receive incoming food orders and donations, date check and sort donations, stock food shelf items as needed, identify inventory that is low, and assist in cleaning the stock room. You may also support the personal shopper by stocking, weighing carts, assisting with prepack orders and cleaning. Volunteers must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Training will be provided.

Volunteer Shift Available:

  • Monday 12-4pm (2 available)
  • Tuesday 9a-12:30p
  • Tuesday 12p-4p
  • Wednesday 9a-12:30pm
  • Wednesday 12p-4pm
  • Thursday 9a-12:30pm

Warehouse

In this role you will check code dates on non-perishable food items, stock shelves, weigh and help put away deliveries. Other miscellaneous other tasks may be assigned on a day to day basis. Need to be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Volunteer Shift Available:

  • Wednesdays, 8:30 am - 11:00 am

    • Our food shelf is always in need of paper grocery bags. Please feel free to drop off any gently used and clean bags to the food shelf Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.
    • We are always in need of product donations. The top 5 food items are canned fish & meat, cooking and baking items, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables plus rice, pasta and cereals. Additionally, we are always in need of: baby items (food, formula, diapers and wipes, cleaning supplies and hygiene items (deodorant, toothpaste/tooth brush, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc). You are welcome to drop off items to our food shelf Monday through Thursday between the houses of 9 am and 3 pm.

Founded more than 40 years ago by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities provides hope and support to more than 17,500 individuals each year with services in over 40 locations, including a network of five food shelves, two resource centers, two sexual and domestic violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth through high school graduation. About 1,000 volunteers donate their time, energy and talent in support of 360 Communities every year.

No matter how a person enters 360 Communities, staff and volunteers engage them to identify the root causes of their problems and provide resources to help them onto a path toward self-sustained success.
