Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
No One Left Behind is seeking 2 Donation Coordinators for the San Francisco East Bay Chapter.
No One Left Behind is the only veteran-run and veteran focused organization serving combat interpreters and combat support personnel who were forced to leave their homes in Iraq and Afghanistan due to being threatened by the Islamic State/the Taliban for working for the US military. These refugees, who risked their lives and those of their families for our troops, arrive in the US with few funds and no household goods. Our mission is to provide them with the support to start a successful life in the US.
While many of our clients are provided basic furnishings by refugee agencies, many of our clients still frequently have severe needs for basic household goods such as pots, pans, and even mattresses.
Our donations coordinator responsibilities are:
Utilizing social media, email lists, and other online media to help drive donations through online wish lists(Amazon, Target)
Coordinate in person emergency donations to our refugee clients with urgent needs by rallying our volunteers and neighborhood in the area.
These coordinator positions are vital to helping our clients in desperate need of basic necessities.
