UH Hospice attends to the special needs of those at end of life. Respite Volunteers provide much needed relief to the caregivers at the same time providing companionship, support and safety for the patient. Volunteers should be compassionate, caring and able to provide a few hours weekly. No medical background is necessary. All that is needed is the desire to help those in need and make a difference.

University Hospitals Hospice provides palliative and supportive care to persons who are faced with a life-limiting condition. The focus of care is to provide comfort and quality of life to the patient and support to the patient's family and caregivers.
Description
University Hospitals (UH) Hospice is committed to providing quality, compassionate care to persons faced with a life-limiting condition and their loved ones. Care is provided wherever the patient calls home, their residence, assisted living or in a skilled nursing facility. Volunteers are an essential part of our hospice team, offering calm, friendly support to patients and families, and administrative support to our paid hospice staff.
