Palmetto Health Hospice is looking for volunteers who are willing to provide companionship to those facing a terminal illness. Hospice volunteers serve in non-medical roles, but are an important part of the hospice team who give their time and emotional support to patients, families and staff. They work in a variety of locations including patient homes, hospitals and nursing facilities. We are currently looking for individuals to serve in Richland, Kershaw, Fairfield, Lexington, and Saluda counties who are interested in sitting with patients to offer companionship, emotional support and caregiver respite. The Volunteer Application https://www.palmettohealth.org/giving/volunteer-programs/volunteer-application/volunteer-application for hospice and all other volunteer opportunities within Palmetto Health is about halfway down the Volunteer Programs page. The next New Hospice Volunteer Training is scheduled for Saturday, March 5th. Please contact me at 803-296-3143 to inquire about the training schedule and/or set up a time to meet with me to discuss all of our hospice volunteer opportunities.
