See and feel the impact you have by volunteering by yourself or with a group of friends at Manna Market in Fridley, serving Fridley, Spring Lake Park or Columbia Heights. Neighbors in the community come to receive food to support their families at weekly deliveries on Tuesdays in shifts available from 10:00-2:00, 5:00-7:30, and 5:15 to 8:30 PM.

Lend a helping hand during the first shift from 10:00 -2:00 PM in either unloading food from a conveyor belt (must be comfortable lifting 30 lbs), or sort through recovered food to determine what is useable, or bag food to prepare it for the evening distribution.

Assist during the evening shift from 5:15 to 8:30 as a food distributor or box carrier. Food distributors assist clients by letting them know which food options are available at available food stations. Box carriers may help seniors or young moms carry their box of food around all the food stations and load it into their cars. Box carriers should plan on wearing comfortable clothes and plan on being indoors and outdoors.

Requirements: Overall willingness to help neighbors receive nutritious food. For the positions of unloading food off the conveyor belt or being a box carrier - volunteers should be comfortable lifting 30 lbs. The box carrier position is very mobile that requires walking, lifting and going up and down the stairs. This position is done outside and inside the church so comfortable clothing should be worn.

Benefits: Volunteers get to see the impact this market has on the community. Additionally, evening volunteers may also be able to go through the food line if food is available after clients have been served.
