Family Mentor (Rochester)

Cause Areas

It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

1099 Jay StRochester, NY 14611

We are seeking mentors to help welcome our heroes to their new communities.

Mentors set their own schedules to meet with their families. You will meet with your family at least biweekly and help orient them to their new community. You will be a trusted friend, a valued advisor, and otherwise support your SIV's family as they restart their lives in the USA. You have the freedom to choose your activities based on your interests and skills and your new friend's needs. Some activities should be more fun and bonding based (anything as small as going for ice cream or as much as going to visit a museum or a festival.) Other activities will be crucial to their success in the United States (helping write a resume, helping search for jobs, taking the family to Costco for the first time, etc.)
