Our tutors meet one-on-one with GED students in public places around Tucson, primarily libraries, Pima College campuses, certain Adult Basic Education sites, coffee shops, etc. Most of the students are enrolled in GED classes and need additional help in reading comprehension, writing and math. The tutor and student arrange their own meetings - where, when, how long, how often, etc. Tutors meet periodically for ongoing reflection, evaluation, support, and training. Tutors submit a weekly report to the director and communicate regularly via email, text, or phone. Our organization supplies the framework of materials, but tutors are encouraged to supplement with additional material from various sources.
