Currently we are looking for volunteers for the 2017 semester school year. Volunteering with The Cherished Hands Foundation can truly be a rewarding experience. In general, we meet on the USC campus twice a month (9:00am-11:00am) for our Saturday Academy. Our goal is that at each session we will have a 1:1 student to volunteer ratio. Many of the students have fallen behind academically so we feel this method allows them to better grasp the material.

Mission Statement
The Cherished Hands Foundation Inc. is an organization dedicated to the development and enrichment of foster children. Through cognitive, social and educational activities and field trips this organization unites foster children to build self-esteem, give them a sense of stability, and recognition that they too can achieve their dreams.
Description
Currently we are focused on our Saturday Academy and our Mentoring and Tutoring program.
The Saturday Academy
A place for foster children to come on Saturday morning to build both their creativity and critical thinking skills by enriching their minds in the arts, sciences, and math which are the fundamental groundwork towards success in school, work and life.
The Mentoring and Tutoring Program
The Mentoring program provides the one on one caring, encouraging, and supportive attention each foster child needs to reach their fullest potential.
We feel that it is imperative to conduct these programs simultaneously to allow the children to benefit the most from the program. Our goal is to have a 1:1 student to volunteer ratio. We find that this allows the child to benefit greatly from the program.
