Did you know that if a child is not reading at their grade level by the third grade, he or she is four times more likely to drop out of high school? This is especially true for many of our Club members who have parents who may not speak English as a first language. Studies are showing that one-on-one reading time for just one hour per week for a school year can eliminate this likelihood.
This is a great opportunity for those interested in working with elementary school aged children in the field of education (specifically Club members 1st-3rd grade) or for an individual who would like to become more active in their community. Let's work together to make an impact on the life of a child today!
We have group orientations every Tuesday at 6pm at the O.K. Clubhouse and Wednesday at 7pm at the Clinton & Gloria John Clubhouse.
