Let’s Finish The Fight Against Breast Cancer! Join Our Volunteer Event Committee
Interested in the topic of breast cancer awareness?? Want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer?
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive, 5K walk through the American Cancer Society that takes place every year in October! This year our event brought 2,500 walkers together and raised over $150,000! Our event unites thousands of breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, corporate and community partners together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer programs and research.
Looking to be involved in your community? We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our event committee to help assist through our 2017 event season! We welcome individuals to fill a variety of roles. Including Day of Committee positions and Executive Ambassador roles.
Some of the volunteer roles include:
- Volunteer Ambassador
- Survivor Ambassador
- Community Engagement Ambassador
- Corporate Engagement Ambassador
- University/Schools Ambassador
- Logistics Ambassador
- Donation Chair
- Publicity Chair
- Entertainment Chair
- Day of Volunteer Chair
- Various Committee Positions
Join us at any of the below information sessions about our Making Strides of Portland event and planning committee.
- Thursday, February 9th: 6:30-7:30pm
- Saturday, February 11th: 10:00-11:00am
- Thursday, February 16th: 6:30-7:30pm

Description
ACS provides patient services, education, and advocacy on cancer-related issues. In addition, the Society raises funds for cancer-related research. Fundraising events include Relay For Life, Bark for Life, and Strides Against Breast Cancer.
