Job Prep Training Program helps at-risk young people learn to find and keep stable employment. Job Prep participants are ages 17 to 22 and are receiving help in the Youth Villages YV LifeSet Program.

These young people have aged out of foster care or state services without family or other support. Research shows that without help they are more likely to be homeless, never complete even a high school education and have trouble finding and keeping jobs.

Each volunteer becomes a career coach and is matched with one young person. Career coaches attend seven two-hour workshops in Marlborough starting in September. Coaches assist and mentor young adults as they learn: how to apply for jobs, write a résumé and improve their interviewing and networking skills. Coaches must be able to attend all sessions.
Guest Speakers will present on job procurement topics, career exploration, resume writing, applications, interviewing, job maintenance. Guest speakers can volunteer for a single night to present.

Dates for Sessions:

  • April 3rd - 5:30-7:30pm
  • April 10th - 5:30-7:30p
  • April 17th - 5:30-7:30p
