Canine Activity and Socialization Volunteers provide activity and socialization to the Sanctuary dogs through walking, interactive play, and training. Please be sure to read the Canine Activity and Socialization Volunteer job description before applying to fully understand this position and the time commitments. These important interactions allow our dogs to gain enrichment, behavioral skills, and comfort while at the Sanctuary awaiting their new homes.

Our Companions is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that is dedicated to doing the right thing for animals, regardless of the cost or challenge. We are committed to helping animals in need today, while also providing programs to prevent animals from becoming homeless.
Description
Our Companions Animal Rescue is a CT-based non -profit that promises to always do the right thing for animals, regardless of the challenge, cost or inconvenience. What this means is, we go to extraordinary lengths to help animals in need today, while also working to prevent animals from becoming homeless tomorrow by addressing the root causes of pet homelessness.
Through our Helpline call center, the only one of its kind in Connecticut, we respond to over 4,000 calls a year from people seeking support, resources, and guidance for their animal related challenges and emergencies.
We currently operate an Animal Sanctuary on 43 acres in Ashford, CT and our Valerie Friedman Program Cneter in Manchester, CT.
Specific programs that help people and pets today AND address the root causes of pet homelessness are as follows:
