At Sylvan Dale, we are fortunate to have a beautiful stretch of the Thompson River flow through our property. Since the 2013 flood, scientist and students have been monitoring the river’s health by observing, collecting data and studying the biodiversity. Students learn about microorganisms, the importance of a healthy river, collect and identify critters. Come be a part of this unique learning experience. Both Lead Instructors and Assistance are needed! No previous teaching experience is needed, we will provide the curriculum.
The Heart-J Center provides hands-on learning for all ages within the beautiful setting of historic Sylvan Dale Ranch. We offer a broad array of field trips, workshops, retreats, and scientific research, all making the most of Sylvan Dale’s unique location and beautiful setting. In addition to our schedule of educational events, we welcome partnerships with nonprofit groups, educational institutions, and others interested in working with us to create customized learning experiences. Our volunteers help us with our Outdoor Education Program and workshops.
