WAV Stream Monitoring
ORGANIZATION: University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Sustainability Office
Please visit the new page to apply.
We do Level 1 stream monitoring of Bluff Creek and Whitewater Creek, which measures turbidity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, flow, and biotic index. Volunteers work with a site supervisor to perform these measurements.
Volunteer monitoring times are bi-weekly from March/April through October/November. Our start and end dates are dependent on the season and safety of water levels, particularly at Whitewater Creek site. Email us to join our list for dates and times of scheduled events and more description about the locations. This is field work and you will be asked to provide a size for waders to join us, but otherwise dress appropriately for the weather and wear clothing appropriate for off-trail work, particularly at Bluff Creek.
Please email sustainability@uww.edu if you are interested in this event to sign up for our email list, which includes timely updates for changes in our volunteer schedule and a regular newsletter featuring different volunteer activities, spotlights on our volunteers, and upcoming opportunties.
