Green Star Movement is a Chicago-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that inspires students and community members through the creation of public art. This interactive process builds teamwork and self esteem in participants and revitalizes urban neighborhoods.
Since our founding in 2005, Green Star Movement has provided more than 6000 students with mural arts programming and successfully transformed the interiors and exteriors of over60 public spaces, including schools, parks, community centers, and underpasses.
We are currently seeking long-term volunteers for our Program Committee.
The Program Committee is responsible for assisting Green Star Movement's staff to enhance program curriculum; evaluate expected outcomes of participation and satisfaction with program by relevant school administrators and educators; develop framework for identifying target areas programming; expand programming through the development of strategic partnerships; secure funding by finding and applying for grants.
Committee members who serve on the committee for at least 1 quarter may be eligible for membership on the full Board of Directors.
Candidates with any/all of the following backgrounds are especially in demand:
- Artistic Directors; Arts Educators; Art Program Administrators
- National/International Nonprofit Administration
- Survey Administration and Data Analysis
- Architecture and Urban Planning
- Community Development
Time Commitment
Much of the work for this committee is done remotely, however the commitee meets quarterly at our office in Bridgeport.
