Since 1989, our 4-acre working Farm has become a popular agriculture education site for many youth from various Southern California counties. We currently have volunteers providing educational tours to elementary-aged students from Monday through Friday during the months of September through June, but we are always in need of more help to aid us in educating today’s youth about agriculture and the role it plays in our daily lives.

Volunteer FAQs

Q: Who can volunteer?

A: If you are 18 years or older and have half a day (Monday - Friday) that you can consistently be available, you are a great candidate for volunteering.

Q: What do volunteers do?

A: Volunteers provide farm tours for kindergarten through 3rd grade students. Don't worry if you lack experience, the Farm will provide you with all the training you need.

Q: What is the time commitment of a volunteer?

A: The time commitment of a volunteer is one day a week from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In this span of time you will conduct two farm tours. You can also elect to do only one tour on your designated day. Tours start at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Q: What are the physical requirements of volunteering?

A: Since volunteers guide children on tours around Centennial Farm, they need to be mobile as well as be able to bend and kneel. They should also be comfortable speaking to children and being around animals.
