Become a Centennial Farm Docent
Centennial Farm General Information:
Since 1989, our 4-acre working Farm has become a popular agriculture education site for many youth from various Southern California counties. We currently have volunteers providing educational tours to elementary-aged students from Monday through Friday during the months of September through June, but we are always in need of more help to aid us in educating today’s youth about agriculture and the role it plays in our daily lives.
Our 4 Volunteer Opportunities:
- *Jr. Farmer Tours
Currently we are in need of volunteers to lead Jr. Farmer Tours. Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. guided tour for Kindergarten through 3 rd grade.
- *Discovery Days
We are also in need of stationed volunteers for our Discovery Days. 1 to 3 days month; 9:00 a.m. - noon for preschoolers, homeschool groups and the general public.
- *Oxen Drovers
Work with and demonstrate with the oxen team for school tours. Currently, the oxen team gives demonstrations on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for Jr. Farmer Tours and every Discovery Day. Training for the oxen team is much more extensive.
