ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mt Hope Community Garden engages culturally diverse residents in local urban food production. Join us on Tuesdays (10 am - 1 pm); Thursdays (10am - 12pm and every 4th Saturday of the month (10 am - 1 pm) to work on the garden. There's always work to do and anyone can volunteer! Garden projects include cleaning the shared community garden spaces, composting, weeding, pruning, harvesting produce, controlling pests and much more.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to complete physical garden tasks such as kneeling, shoveling, etc. and ability to use garden tools
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to the garden

BENEFITS:

  • Give back through community service and belong to a community of food growers, community residents and volunteers
  • Learn about urban farming and community engagement as primary tools to improve food access, food security, and environmental wellness
