We are looking for Patient Care Volunteers at VITAS Healthcare to visit patients on hospice residing in assisted living, nursing homes and/or their own homes. There are many locations for this opportunity in the St. Louis City and County areas. Patient Care Volunteers offer companionship, play music, games, read to patients and help in other meaningful ways.
Volunteers are matched with a VITAS patient to provide specific, non- medical care through socializing through friendly visits. Every VITAS volunteer receives training in hospice philosophy, how to support patients/families, health and safety precautions and more.
