Available Volunteer Opportunity: Registered Nurses for Pregnancy Resource Center
Locations: Middletown, CT
Hours: Monday-Wednesdays, 10:00am-5:00pm; Thursday, 10:00am-2:00pm, or possibly outside business hours. Biggest need is on Wednesdays and Thursdays, or on call for ultrasounds.
Depending on your role, your tasks may include:
* Performing pregnancy tests with low-income clients
* Assisting sonographer with ultrasounds
* Entering client data
* Creating relationsips with school nurses for referrals for students who may be pregnant
* Conducting medical screenings (optional)
Impact: By serving with this volunteer opportunity, you will be helping young children become socially, emotionally and academically prepared for kindergarten by collaboratively increasing the scope, quality and impact of local family-based programs and services.
In order to volunteer you should be:
* A registered Urban Alliance volunteer (you will have the chance to if you haven't already)
* A Registered Nurse
* Open to working with people
* Willing to volunteer time (time can be used as tax write off)
* Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
* Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
This volunteer opportunity is hosted at a life-affirming, Christian-faith based pregnancy resource center. Volunteers who interact one-on-one with clients are required to agree with ABC's faith and conduct policy and/or expectations.
A background check will be required to be placed with this volunteer opportunity.
