Help make the weekends at the Ohio History Center great by facilitating hands-on make-and-take projects, or one of our Fascination Stations. Volunteers must have great people skills and experience interacting with all ages and learning styles. A great position for college students looking for education and museum experience
Requirements: Volunteers must able to interact with all ages and learning styles, able to set up materials on the floor, and facilitate involvement of guests. Ages 14+, great opportunity for students
Time Commitment: This position requires a commitment of several specific
weekends a year, Sept.- Feb., as well as training sessions.
Training: Specific training is provided for each station. All Floor Volunteers must also do at least 2 days training in Ohio Village so as to be able to answer all visitor questions.
Volunteers currently receive the following perks:

* Discounts on fees for workshops, lectures, special events, and tours sponsored by the Ohio History Connection

* Volunteers donating a certain amount of hours in a calendar year are eligible to receive a free volunteer membership the following year:
- Free regular admission for one year to all 50+ sites and museums statewide
- Discounts on most purchases in the Ohio History Store and Archives/Library at the Ohio History Center, participating sites and online
- Reciprocal membership benefits at over 200 historical museums and sites nationwide through the "Time Travelers" program
- Invitations to members-only events and exhibit openings
- Enjoy Buy One, Get One Free admission to select Columbus museums and attractions (COSI, Zoo, CMA, Franklin Park and more)
