Berkeley Humane is seeking a volunteer event chair to lead Operations & Logistics for the 5 th annual Bark (& Meow) Around the Block event, an adopt-a-thon and street fair! Reduced adoption fees, great food and entertainment for the whole family add up to a day of family-friendly furry fun. General Commitment for all chairs:
- Must be available for a majority of weekly one-hour calls, day/time to be determined
- Must be available for 3 in-person meetings at Berkeley Humane, dates to be determined
Operations & Logistics Chair
- Coordinate with the City of Berkeley to obtain various permits and licenses required for the event
- Negotiate and coordinate with various vendors in order to provide rental and other items for the event
- Plan, execute, and oversee overseeing logistical details including event layout, event day timeline, in partnership with staff and event chair
- A successful Logistics Chair is organized, detail oriented, able to pay attention and adhere to timelines and enjoys planning ahead
- Commitment = 10 - 40 hours per month, totaling ~100 hours over the span of February -August

Berkeley Humane is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that does not receive funding from national groups or the government. We are supported by individual contributions, events, program fees, and corporate and foundation grants, and are not run or supported by any national or regional entity.
