Community Foundations (CF) provide a broad spectrum of community programs and services and address local needs and opportunities via grant making, community convening and engagement.CF’s are tax exempt, non-profit, publicly supported philanthropic organization with the long term goal of building permanent, named funds for the broad-based public benefit of the residents in a given area.

Golden Valley Community Foundation (GVCF) is positioned to become the leading force for expanding private philanthropy in our area. The Board of Directors (Board) is the Foundation's chief policy-making body. As such, the Board bears ultimate responsibility for the legal, financial, administrative, grant making, community service and fundraising activities of the Foundation. The Board has decided to add new members strategically. The Board consists of 15 members, all of whom serve as full voting members. Members are chosen by the Board. The term is 2 years, and Board members can be re-elected to serve a maximum of four additional two-year terms.

The Foundation, established in 2011 has had significant success during our formative years. We are a hands-on all-volunteer organization actively engaged in our programming.
