Do you love to run? Interested in mentoring youth? We need volunteer coaches and assistant coaches for Girls on the Run and Trailblazers. All BCSC schools have access to these two afterschool running programs.

GOTR inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Girls on The Run is a transformational physical-activity-based youth development program for girls in 3 rd to 8 th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health & fitness.

Trailblazers curriculum focuses on developing cognitive, physical and social skills while promoting a healthy lifestyle through running for boys ages 8 to 13. The boys will prepare for a 5k while learning the importance of eating healthy and training appropriately for their age level. They will learn all aspects of running and explore future opportunities in the sport of running.

Both programs culminate with the youth being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. Be a positive influence, and become a coach. Go to for locations and practice times.
