It's like playing Santa every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and select Saturdays!!
Home Makers of Hope accepts gently used furniture and then delivers it to families and individuals who could be sleeping on the floor! Families and individuals are sent to us already pre-screened by our community's social service and faith-based agencies so that we can try to meet their furniture and household needs. This is a completely volunteer group, requiring just a few hours each week! Those few hours totally can change the lives of so many people.
Each MONDAY,TUESDAY and THURSDAY from 9:00 to 2:00 (or later) volunteers gather at the east end of Gulf Eagle Supply warehouse in Ybor City for a variety of tasks: driving box trucks, sorting through household donations; loading and unloading furniture from box trucks; delivering and setting up furniture to families and individuals. Saturday teams are also a possibility.
On SATURDAYS and some WEDNESDAYS from 8:30 AM to early-afternoon, furniture donations are picked up from throughout the County and delivered to our warehouse.
Volunteers also help with gathering and entering records, seeking additional donations, visiting the families in advance to ascertain space and furniture needs, scheduling pick ups, etc. There is a role for everyone!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

Home Makers of Hope wishes to establish a network of volunteers to help raise families and individuals from poverty through tangible items, such as furniture and house wares, providing stability and elevating their status in the community. These hopes include replicating this model throughout the county and connecting region.
Home Makers of Hope collects donations of gently used furniture and household items and delivers them to needy families prescreened and referred by the community's social service agencies. Home Makers of Hope is completly operated by volunteers (no paid staff) and serves families and individuals without regard to age, race, religion or country of origin. Additional volunteers are needed to drive the boxtrucks, move furniture, visit the families and provide support for "back office" tasks.
We'll work with your schedule.
