JFCS establishes a corps of trained Preparedness and Response volunteers prepared to mobilize at a moment`s notice. They help older adults and individuals with disabilities to prepare kits in advance of a disaster and deliver emergency supplies to, and conduct home checks on, "at risk" older adults and individuals with disabilities who may be without power and unable to leave their homes.

The goal of the volunteer programs is to provide quality, compassionate assistance to consumers throughout Bergen, Passaic Counties and North Hudson with their activities of daily living, stimulating communication, interaction and socialization to enhance their quality of life and promote their independence.
