The National September 11 Memorial and Museum welcomes millions of visitors each year from around the world. 9/11 Memorial & Museum volunteers play a critical role in providing visitors with a meaningful experience.

Summer Visitor Services volunteers help with operations at the Memorial & Museum during this busy time. They ensure visitors feel welcome by proactively greeting and answering questions.

We are seeking Visitor Services volunteers who are friendly, outgoing, courteous, and comfortable with interacting with Memorial & Museum visitors. Duties include:

-Welcome and interact with visitors

-Inform visitors about the programs and exhibitions available inside the Museum

-Assist visitors with directions

-Direct visitor queues and pathways

Summer Visitor Services volunteers work two shifts (eight hours total) per week for 2-3 months. It is also requested that volunteers maintain the same shifts each week, and make up any missed shifts within 2 weeks. The Memorial & Museum is open every day.

Volunteer posts require the ability to stand for up to four hours at a time, inside the Museum and occasionally outdoors on the Memorial. You must be 16+ years old and successfully complete our application process. We will hold monthly group interviews from March - June. We provide all the training for volunteers to perform their duties effectively. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that enables individuals to develop interpersonal and teamwork skills.
