Volunteer Recruitment Chair:

Positions Responsibilities:

• Recruit day of volunteer’s subcommittee volunteers and meet with them regularly. Provide frequent updates to Logistics Chair.

• Develop a plan to recruit volunteers in the community to help the day of the walk.

• Communicate regularly with each committee chair in the area of event development to learn about day of volunteer needs.

• Share the day of volunteer plan, progress, and needs regularly with the event Operations Vice Chair and Logistics Chair at committee meetings.

• Assign volunteers based on their area of preference and ensure regular communication with all day of volunteers about day of logistics, training, key contacts, etc.

• Secure and manage day of volunteer check-in area on event day.

What is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer?

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight against breast cancer. Passionate walk participants raise critical funds that enable the American Cancer Society to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it is most treatable.
