Senior Villages are intended to provide supportive services for seniors to help them to remain active and independent. The Sanctuary Intergenerational Senior Villages is a new senior village that is looking to recruit volunteers to assist seniors with various services. Volunteers are needed to provide the following services to seniors in the Eastland Gardens community of Washington, DC:
* Yardwork for Seniors (shoveling snow, raking leaves, cutting grass for senior homeowners that are not physically able to perform these tasks)
* Assist with transporting seniors to medical appointments or to grocery shopping
* Provide telephone reassurance calls to seniors
* Provide friendly visits to lonely and isolated seniors
* Assistance with home tasks such as changing light bulbs or fixing electronics
* Computer classes
