Mens Center Volunteers

Come help us make people feel welcome!
Yours will be the smile behind the counter at the Men's Center Emergency Shelter Front Desk. You will take phone messages, answer questions, greet guests ,give out sandwiches and blankets, providing a listening ear while directing clients to their counselor or supervisor for advice. The time commitment of this position is six months to a year or longer, two to three days per week, at two to four hours per day.

Description

Gospel Rescue Mission operates a homeless shelter for men and a shelter for women and women with children. In addition to providing emergency needs to the homeless population, both shelters operate long term residential recovery and education programs. These programs include: drug and alcohol recovery and relapse prevention; academic education; computer literacy; counseling; job readiness; and life skills training. We also provide food boxes, clothing,and household items to needy Tucson residents.

  • Orientation or Training

  • Able to stand or sit for 3-4 hour shifts. Excellent personal skills serving poor and homeless who may be having difficult days.
