Job Title: Volunteer Child Supervisor - Child Waiting Area (CWA) Room
Purpose:
Community Table (formerly Arvada Community) Food Bank - Child Waiting Area (CWA) volunteer child supervisor assists with children whose parent/s needs to shop for their family. This room is designed to be child friendly and separate from the adult waiting area/lobby. Children can color, read or be read to, watch a movie and have a snack.
Key Responsibilities:
▪Provide oversight for children in the child waiting room.
▪Greet parents and introduce yourself.
▪Check children into the room and check them out to their parent/guardian.
▪Engage with child/children and read books to/play with them.
▪Sanitize the room and toys as needed each day.
▪Maintain the room and keep it clean/organized.
▪Report any concerns or issues to your supervisor.
Reports to: Director of Food Programs
Time Commitment:
Shifts Vary: M, T, F - 11:45am to 4:00 pm
Wednesday - 11:45am to 6:00pm (2 shifts - 11:45am to 4:00pm and 4:00pm to 6:00pm)
Thursday - 9am-11:30am, 11:30am-2:00pm, and 2:00pm-4pm shifts
Qualifications:
Must be child friendly and caring. Demonstrate compassion and understanding to our clients and their children. Must be able to lift up 25 pounds and be able to bend down and pickup children. Must be able to read and write names in order to check children in and out. Collect and report data as required.
Age Requirement: 21 and above
Dress Code: Casual and comfortable
Background Checks: A Background Check is required for this job.
Training: Shadow/training provided by other CWA supervisor. CWA orientation handbook provided.
