Have some extra time? We’ve got the place! INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS NEEDED.
Our HILLCREST THRIFT SHOPS are not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, and a perfect way to give back to your community. VOLUNTEER for as little or as much as you like!
Funds from our re-purpose thrift operations support our LOCAL Platte County-Homeless Outreach. Our program provides 33 apartments for working families and young adults (ages 17-23) who are temporarily homeless. The mission is to transform lives from homelessness back to self-sufficiency.
Thrift Shop opportunities benefit ongoing projects with flexible dates and times for volunteers. Snacks and drinks are on us! You can help process donations, sort clothing, merchandising, cashiering, help at the donation dock, throughout store departments, etc.
We WELCOME and ENCOURAGE retirees, students, middle-aged folks, groups, and those needing service hours to volunteer. An added benefit is the community building within our Thrift Shops-meet the people who all come together to make this work!

Mission Statement
Hillcrest Platte County provides a local housing ministry, featuring 35 apartment complexes, for working families that are temporarily homeless. Our mission is to transition families from homelessness back to self-sufficiency. Poverty-related services are also offered through our "Blessings Program" to assist families before homelessness occurs. Select furniture donations at the Hillcrest Thrift Shop furnish our program apartments and benefit our graduates when furnishing their next housing spaces.
Description
We are a not-for-profit organization with two "up-scale" Thrift Shops and a "clearance outlet". Our Thrift Shop departments include clothing, linens, large appliances, home and garden, furniture, sports, boutique, antiques, books, crafts, seasonal, and toys-which you can serve in.
All profits generated at our re-purpose thrift operations support our local housing ministry for working families that are temporarily homeless; the mission is to transition families from homelessness back to self-sufficiency.
Join team Hillcrest as an individual and serve at one of our "up-scale" Thrift Shops! Want to join as a large group? Serve at our "clearance outlet"!

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 14
- Orientation or Training
- Serve 1-3 hours, 1/2 days, or full days. Volunteer orientations are given every week: Thursdays at 11 am or Saturdays at 3 pm. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a volunteer form.
- Must be at least 14 years old (with an adult to serve with) or 16 to fly solo. Thank you and we look forward to having your help!
