Mill Valley Philharmonic, Marin County’s award-winning, nonprofit community orchestra, is looking for a Grant Development Lead to join our volunteer Leadership Board of Directors. Our working board seeks a person with the following qualities: a love of music and the arts; experience in nonprofit development; connection to the communities MVP serves; and commitment to public service. The MVP board member in this position is responsible for researching grant opportunities and soliciting foundations to help support the orchestra’s budget.
Mill Valley Philharmonic (www.millvalleyphilharmonic.org) is expanding its board because over sixteen years we’ve grown from a "start up" to an established member of the Marin community. We proudly celebrate our 16th season of bringing free orchestral concerts to people in their own communities. MVP has been recognized both locally, with a "Milley" Award from the Mill Valley Arts Commission and nationally, with an award from the MetLife/American Symphony Orchestra for community engagement.
The mission of Mill Valley Philharmonic is to enrich the cultural life of the Bay Area by offering free orchestral programs to people of all ages and means in their own communities. As an organization, we believe that music is a vital part of individual and community life. Whether participating as a player or as a listener, music engages our imaginative powers, awakens our aesthetic sensibilities, and inspires our creative expression.
We invite you to become a part of this exciting endeavor.
