In this program volunteers are teaching English and computers in school going students and youths in rural or urban city based communities in Bangalore city or rural district of Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu in India. The volunteers will be providing them with the skills needed to improve their quality of life. The volunteers also will encourage the girls to apply for jobs that will set them on a path to leading full and productive lives.

The volunteer classes don't have any curriculum, volunteer are free to teach anything that will make the girls to think, speak and read. This help will not only change the lives of the females you teach - it will also considerably change your own life, as well as the lives of the future little girls who will be provided with better guidance from their mothers as a result of your help.

Volunteer work activities

  • Teaching to girls in their respective schools
  • Teaching and enhancing their knowledge in English
  • English listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises
  • Teaching about computer and its operation
  • Teaching about the world, cultures, food and ongoing stuff around the world

Project requirements

  • Duration- Minimum of 2 weeks to 4 weeks (short term) and durations ranging from 4-24 weeks (long Term) onwards.
  • Age limit - Above 18+ and maximum age depends on participant's health.
  • Qualification - High School, basic English communicative and Teaching skills.
  • Visa type - Your trips fall under the category of volunteer tourism and you will need to obtain a tourist or work visa to India.
  • Program and Registration Fee: Please contact us.
  • What is included and not included: covers food 3 times a day, stay, airport pick up and drop, training and placement, 24 / 7 hours monitoring and supervision, certification and work experience letter. Your program or registration fee does not cover flight from and to, visa, health insurance, food outside or entry fee outside the project visit, internet etc.

Description

Kenosis Foundation (KF) is a not-for-profit voluntary organization, registered (Reg # 166/2013-2014) on 29th June 2013, under Sec.7 of the Indian Trusts Act 1882. We focus on rural areas and support women and the children of widows, single moms, abuse victims, victims of physical harassment, and disadvantaged, underprivileged and the economically weaker sections of society. Our head office is located in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka State, India.

We identify poorest of the poor rural villages and work for causes ranging from child welfare, health and education, economic empowerment for women, creating employment opportunities for dropout and underprivileged youths, health and hygiene in communities and schools, After School Programs, Women Self Help Groups (SHG’s), Teach English and Computer, Bio-organiz forming, Animal healthcare, Solidwaste management, building and renovation of beneficiaries homes and schools, youth vocational skill training, organize campaign and training, summer and health camps, life skills education in rural villages and schools, Renovation of beneficiaries house and construction of toilet, women's empowerment and empowering women to start self business and income generating (IGP) activities. Kenosis is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in rural India.
